Learn about us
Sustainable practices have long been a part of our daily lives. What we’ve realised over the years, however, is that sustainable living must go hand in hand with sustainable work. Having seen tons of plastic and food go to waste, we decided it’s time to rethink how we organise events and how we can reduce our environmental footprint in the process. After in-depth research and interviews with experts, we’ve found that we can replace virtually everything that goes into an event with a more environment-friendly option. And so we did.
CEO, veteran event manager with 10+ years of industry experience. Passionate about translating complex event planning processes into a seamless flow of easy decisions for clients. Believes that his daughter deserves a chance to grow up in a liveable environment – and go fishing on the Danube at Ráckeve for as long as she wants.
Savvy event manager with a strong solution focus and 300+ events behind her. After 10 years at leading event management agencies, she’s seen it all. Composting enthusiast, lover of local, seasonal produce. Never used a cotton bag less than 131 times. Always on the lookout for new ways to trim her ecological footprint here and there.
Seasoned communicator, entrepreneur, avid supporter of circular economy models. Believes that small businesses have a huge role in making our world a greener place. Finds corporate events and festivals key to educating people on eco-conscious living, sustainability and zero-waste practices.
With nearly ten years of professional experience behind her, she knows precisely that events are her thing, which unites what she loves to do and what she is good at. Nothing makes her happier than creating real experiences and seeing smiling guests. She cares about everything and everyone, including the planet, even if this means extra steps for her when using the stairs instead of the elevator to consume less electricity.
It’s rare for someone to know what they want to do when they’re 18, but Niki chose event organising without a doubt when she went to college. She gathered experience from a client point of view for several years before joining our team to pursue what was most appealing to her even as an entrant: sustainable events. Thus, environmental protection has become a keystone not only in her private life but also at work.
How we make a difference
When organizing catering of our events, we are composing the menu with special care. Considering seasonality, choosing local ingredients and introducing vegetarian and vegan options to the guests is all part of planning a sustainable event catering service. We are aspired to be plastic-free, that’s why we use tableware made of porcelain, glass or metal. In order to minimize food waste, unspoiled dishes are sent to charity and other left-overs are composted after every HighVibes event. Although we are thinking local and encourage guests to travel by public transport, there’s always a few things (or a few people) that has to be transported by car. To organize truly carbon neutral company events, with the help of our partners we calculate how much pollutant were emitted. By supporting MyForest’s afforestation or WWF’s habitat reconstruction project, we neutralize our emission. You can learn more about carbon-offsetting and the role of trees in this article. Decoration and tailoring the visual of the event to reflect the brand image is one of the most important tasks when preparing a company event. Working with natural decoration, sustainable materials and rented furniture and equipment makes it possible to keep everything in circulation. Instead of producing branded goods, we use screens and other technologies for brand appearance. After the event, carpets are donated to pre-schools and natural decorations are composted.
As a zero-waste agency, green event venues are our soft spot. We champion like-minded restaurants, hotels and businesses who are open to new ways of thinking and doing, and feel as strongly about sustainability as we do
We collect waste selectively both during and after our events. Yes, we know the difference between polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene, and which bin they go in. Plus, we only use eco-friendly cleaning products to keep event space sparkling clean and protect our waters. Learn more
As an event organizer company, planning is a crucial step of the process. We are happy to do that in a sustainable environment! When introducing ourselves, we proudly announce that we don't have business cards. Also, we always turn down the heating in the office, collect garbage selectively and compost the whole team’s coffee grounds.
Promoting sustainability is central to our mission. We’re committed to continuously educating ourselves and our partners on sustainable practices – and finding ways to raise awareness among event attendees, too.
